In 2016, Mr. Cameron was a daily visitor to the Orlando Public Library. He spent his time creating beautiful pencil drawings of nature scenes, butterflies and puppy dogs.

When the library was not open, Mr. Cameron could usually be found at Lake Eola Park, selling sketches and drawings to passersby, often giving them away to little ones.

On Display
The Orlando Public Library in downtown Orlando had display cases on every floor so individuals or organizations could display information, art or other items for a two-month period.

In 2016, an Orlando Public Library staff member who spoke with Mr. Cameron daily about his art at library, asked if he would be interested in displaying his art in one of the cases so everyone could see his beautiful pencil drawings. He gave eight drawings to the staff member who framed six of them for the display case.

A few weeks later, Mr. Cameron stopped coming to the library. Staff who knew him began asking if anyone had seen him and some even visited Lake Eola Park hoping to find him there, but to no avail. At the end of two months, his artwork was removed from the display case and stored carefully in a box anticipating his return.
Ten Years Later
Today is June 16, 2016. It has been ten long years since anyone here at the Orlando Public Library has seen Mr. Cameron. The staff member to whom Mr. Cameron gave his artwork still scans the faces of all who enter each day hoping to see him.
For all we know, Mr. Cameron may have left this mortal coil and reside with the Great Artist in heaven now, but his kindness and art live on in the memories of all who encountered him, and in the pencil drawings he sold at Lake Eola Park and joyfully gave away.
